SARS Saturday Service Centres 2026: Dates and Hours
This article will count 0.25 units (15 minutes) of unverifiable CPD. Remember to log these units under your membership profile.
Selected SARS service centres are open on certain Saturdays to help taxpayers file Income Tax returns before the individual Filing Season deadline of 23 October 2026. Most centres open from 08:00 to 13:00. The three North West centres, Rustenburg, Mmabatho and Klerksdorp, open from 08:00 to 12:00. Klerksdorp is restricted. On Saturdays it handles return submissions, updates to taxpayer details, and updates to eFiling contact details only. Nothing else.
Who this is actually for
This is not to assist your eFiling clients but those who cannot file digitally. The informal trader with no fixed email address. The small retail owner whose ID and banking details on the SARS system are outdated and who now needs biometric facial recognition to fix them, a change we covered in the SARS eFiling troubleshooting guide for practitioners. The pensioner client whose auto-assessment is wrong. These are the cases that eat your weekday hours and a Saturday branch slot moves them off your desk.
Remaining Saturdays, by centre
The July and August dates in the SARS table have largely passed. Here is what is left from 29 August 2026 onwards.
Two points worth flagging to clients.
First, the four Eastern Cape centres have no September Saturdays on the current list. The next open Saturday there is 3 October.
Second, the 24 October date listed for the Eastern Cape centres falls the day after the 23 October deadline. Anyone banking on that Saturday to file on time is already late.
What to do this week
Pull your list of unfiled individual clients. Sort by who genuinely needs a branch visit and who does not.
Match each one to the nearest centre and a specific date from the table above. Send the date, not the link.
Book through SARS eBooking before they travel. Saturday opening is not a walk-in guarantee.
Do not send Klerksdorp clients for anything beyond a submission or a detail update.
Set your own internal cut-off at 16 October, the last Saturday before the deadline for most centres. That gives you one week of buffer.
The 23 October deadline is legally binding. Administrative non-compliance penalties start at R250 per month and run to R16,000 per month depending on taxable income, and they accumulate for up to 35 months. A wasted Saturday trip in October is not a small inconvenience. It is the start of a penalty run.
Bill for the triage. Working out which client needs a branch and which does not is advisory work, not admin.
