CIPC issued Notice 25 of 2026 reminding companies that any changes to a director's details must be reported within 10 business days of the change. This includes:

  • Directors being appointed or removed

  • Name changes i.e. after marriage

  • An expired passport number for a foreign director, or

  • A change of address or contact details.

This comes after noting that companies file Annual Returns with outdated or incorrect director information on its registers,

All updates can be made online via the CIPC eservices platform under the Director Amendments section. Contact detail changes specifically must be done through the Change of Contact Details tab.

CIPC is urging companies to act promptly, as accurate director information is a legal requirement under the Companies Act and helps prevent fraud and falsification on the register.

If you manage company secretarial work for clients, now is a good time to check that all director records on CIPC are current.
