Think your voice doesn’t matter in the national budget? Think again. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana is officially inviting South Africans to submit their views ahead of the 2026 National Budget Speech, set for 25 February.

With limited resources and growing demands, the 2026 Budget aims to balance economic growth with support for the vulnerable. And now, for a limited time, you can weigh in on what matters most, from spending priorities and tax policy to debt, SOEs, energy, water, and even municipal finances.

Submissions are open until 16 February 2026, and must be concise and under 300 words. If you’re frustrated by budget deficits or passionate about smarter infrastructure investment, this could be your moment.
