The Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has issued a notice explaining how registered candidates can formally apply to postpone their Professional Designation Examination (PDE).
The notice follows the 14 May 2026 sitting, when the PPRA website ran into technical problems at the start of the exam. During the PDE 4 and PDE 5 examinations held on 14 May 2026, the PPRA website experienced technical difficulties, rendering the website inaccessible. As a result, some examination candidates were unable to download the examination question papers and consequently could not undertake the examination. The PPRA has since arranged a special PDE 4 and PDE 5 sitting on 26 May 2026 for affected candidates.
What the notice covers
The postponement notice sets out how candidates who enrolled, registered and paid, but who are unable to write on the scheduled date, should submit a request so they do not forfeit their exam fee.
Key points to know
Postponement requests must be made in writing, with supporting reasons and documents attached.
The PPRA generally requires requests at least 14 days before the exam date. Requests based on genuine unforeseen circumstances that are submitted later are assessed on merit.
A postponement is not automatic. The PPRA reviews each request and may decline it.
An approved postponement does not automatically enrol you for the next exam. You must register again on the MyPPRA portal and pay any top-up if the fee has increased.
Why it matters
The PDE is a compliance milestone, not an optional extra. For intern and full-status practitioners, missing it without an approved postponement can mean a forfeited fee and a delay in moving to full or principal status, which directly affects your ability to earn commission.
What to do now
Read the full PPRA notice for the exact submission steps, deadline and email address, then send your written request with supporting documents as early as possible.
