PPRA New Payment Reference Requirements

The Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has issued an important notice to all registered property practitioners, highlighting new mandatory requirements for completing bank deposits and EFT payments.

Effective immediately, all payments to the PPRA must include the correct 7-digit PPRA PIN as the reference. This step is essential to ensure that payments are accurately allocated to the correct practitioner account.

For new applicants who do not yet have a PPRA PIN, the PPRA instructs that the South African ID number (for individuals) or the company registration number (for entities) must be used as the payment reference.

The PPRA has further clarified that certain generic references, such as “PPRA payment”, “registration”, “CPD”, “FFC”, or “fees”—are no longer acceptable. Incorrect or missing references may lead to significant delays in processing applications, renewals, and other essential services.

In a notable update, the use of the previously common reference number “4052033310” will now be rejected by banks, reinforcing the move towards more specific and accountable payment tracking.

Practitioners can retrieve their 7-digit PPRA PIN by logging into the MYPPRA portal at www.theppra.org.za.
