IRBA Reappointed to Global Audit Regulator Board

South Africa’s audit regulator, the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA), has been re-elected to the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) Board for another four-year term. IRBA’s CEO, Mr Imre Nagy, was also reappointed as Chairperson of IFIAR’s Audit and Finance Committee.

This international recognition highlights IRBA’s strong role in promoting audit quality and oversight – both in South Africa and globally. IRBA has been part of IFIAR since its founding in 2006 and remains active in several of its working groups.

Why it matters

This appointment strengthens South Africa’s voice in global audit standards and reflects positively on the country’s commitment to strong financial governance and international collaboration.
