CIPC Draft Data Models for IFRS 2025 Now Open for Comment

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has just released its draft updates for the 2025 XBRL reporting taxonomy affecting all businesses that submit financials via XBRL.

What’s Changing?

  • New IFRS 18 updates have been included, focusing on how companies present and disclose financial information.

  • A proposed sustainability extension is also in the mix, preparing for future ESG-related reporting requirements.

Who Does This Affect?

This applies to:

  • Companies reporting under IFRS

  • Co-operatives using XBRL

  • Entities reporting under GRAP (typically public sector).
