The National Treasury, together with the FSCA and NCFEC, will launch Money Smart Week South Africa (MSWSA) 2025 on Monday, 18 August 2025 (11:00–12:00) via Microsoft Teams. The nationwide campaign runs from 25 to 31 August 2025, promoting financial literacy and smarter money choices for South Africans.

For accountants, this is more than just a public awareness event, it’s an opportunity to:

  • Position yourself as a trusted financial guide in your community.

  • Educate clients on budgeting, debt management, and compliance issues that directly impact their financial well-being.

  • Collaborate with other professionals and community organisations to promote responsible money management.

The launch will highlight this year’s focus areas, showcase tools and resources you can use with clients, and connect you with a national network working to boost financial capability.

Who can take part

Accountants in practice or commerce, SMEs, NGOs, community groups, and anyone committed to improving financial decision-making.

Bottom line for accountants
