SARS Scam Alert: “ATTACHED SARS SUMMON AGAINST YOU” Email

SARS has warned taxpayers about a fraudulent email currently in circulation with the subject line:

“ATTACHED SARS SUMMON AGAINST YOU.”

Please note that scammers regularly change subject lines, so variations of this message may also appear.

The email contains a PDF letter with a link to a fraudulent phishing website. Do not click on any links or open suspicious attachments.

📌To access SARS eFiling safely, always type the official address directly into your browser or log in via the SARS website homepage at www.sars.gov.za. Never access eFiling through links sent via email.

📌If you are unsure whether a communication is legitimate, visit the SARS’s Scams and Phishing webpage for examples of known scams or forward the suspicious email to phishing@sars.gov.za for verification.

Stay vigilant. When in doubt, do not click.
