Tax Season SARS Mobile Workshops

July and August bring more than mid-year grind, they bring SARS Mobile Tax Units (MTUs) to a location near you. These pop-up branches are a game-changer for accountants and clients busy with July deadlines.

SARS is dispatching MTUs across provinces to bring help closer to taxpayers—no more queuing at main offices. In July 2025, these units will be in places like Overstrand (Hermanus, Gansbaai, Kleinmond), Limpopo, North West, KZN, Mpumalanga, and more. August sees them popping up again in North West, Mpumalanga and beyond.

Where are the MTUs set up

North West (July, August) in Rustenburg and Mmabatho

Limpopo (July) at:

  • Maruleng Municipality & Kgapane Community Hall

  • Namakgale Community Hall

  • Kruger National Park – Phalaborwa Gate

  • Makhado Municipal Office

Eastern Cape

  • Gqeberha: July to October 2025

  • East London: July to September 2025

  • Mthatha: July, August, September, October 2025

KwaZulu‑Natal (July): MTUs deployed (specific towns not listed):

  • Siyabuswa

  • Bushbuckridge

  • Schoemansdal

  • Mkhondo

  • Msukaligwa

Free State & Northern Cape (July–November): Locations served by Pop-up Branches and several MTUs (Units 7, 11, 13 and 21).

What Mobile Units Offer

These fully equipped mini-branches let taxpayers:

  • Complete & submit ITR12 returns via MobiApp or eFiling

  • Get help with tax registration and digital onboarding

  • Ask general enquiries about the filing season

Bring along required documents: ID, IRP5, travel logs, medical and retirement certificates—and, of course, a smartphone .
