I spend the first hour of my morning getting ready and freshening up.

What sparked your interest in accounting and finance?

I was drawn to accounting and finance because of my entrepreneurial mindset.

Can you share some key career milestones or defining moments?

Persevering after my second attempt at CTA was a defining moment in my career.

What is your role within your company’s finance department?

I’m a Senior Accountant in the company’s finance team.

How do you contribute to the overall financial strategy of the business?

I contribute through customer relationship management, preparing management accounts, managing cash flow, and leading the team.

What is one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your role? How did you overcome it?

One of my biggest challenges was reconciling accounts from periods before I joined the company.

What tools or strategies do you use to manage the financial operations of the company effectively?

I rely on clear and effective communication with all stakeholders around needs and timelines.

Share your strategies for staying balanced, especially during busy periods

Driving home from work gives me a chance to take a mental break and recharge.

What do you enjoy outside of work? Any hobbies or activities that help you recharge?

I enjoy spending time with friends over a few drinks, often talking through business ideas.

Do you mentor or support other team members in the finance department? How do you help develop the skills of others?

I support team members by patiently walking them through my methodologies and staying open to questions at any time.

What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in a finance department?

The most important tools for a career in finance are an open mind and staying up to date with economic developments.

A key leadership lesson I’ve learned is that learning is lifelong, and valuable insights can come from anyone, regardless of their position.

What’s something surprising about you that isn’t in your professional bio? A hobby, interest, or fun fact?

I’m skilled at dancing traditional music.

If you could have any superpower to help you in your job, what would it be? Predicting financial trends? Master multitasking?

I’d love the ability to master multitasking.

What’s your go-to strategy for staying productive during long workdays?

I stay productive during long workdays by discussing ideas with colleagues.

If you could relive one day from your career, which day would it be and why? What made that day special?

I’d choose Friday, as it’s the day my energy dips after a long week.
